Language interpreting facilitates oral communication between users of different languages; either simultaneously in “real time” or consecutively after one party has finished speaking.
ESyDE offers interpreting services in the language combinations Spanish-English, German-English and Spanish-German. We only accept assignments that we can perform with absolute quality assurance. We collaborate with other professional interpreters for specific fields and linguistic combinations.
We are flexible and will gladly travel to the place where our services are required.
We offer the following modes of interpreting:
In consecutive interpreting, the speech is divided into segments. The interpreter takes notes and speaks after the source-language speaker pauses or finishes speaking. This mode is particularly suitable for receptions, press conferences, cultural events and testimonies.
A variety of consecutive interpreting; the interpreter translates into both languages to enable a conversation between the parties. After each statement, the interpreter communicates the message in the other language; note-taking is usually not necessary. This mode of interpreting facilitates a fluid, dynamic dialogue in situations such as job interviews, negotiations or medical consultations.
In simultaneous interpreting, the interpreter renders the message in the target language in real time. The interpreters sit in small sound-proof booths or use technical equipment such as the Infoport/Bidule system while simultaneously interpreting into a microphone. At the same time, the assistants listen through headphones. This type of interpreting is ideal for events with a high number of participants like conferences, conventions, guided tours or lectures.
Whispered interpreting (chuchotage)
Whispered interpreting is used when the majority of a group speaks the source language, and a minority does not. The interpreter sits next to or behind the small target language audience and whispers the interpretation simultaneously; this method requires no equipment, but may be done via microphone and headphones as well. It is mainly used at trade fairs and meetings.
